Sage flows into new brnding

Sage has unveiled a new look and feel to its branding. The rebrand includes a new logo and several announcements that continue the evolution of Sage that Steve Hare, CEO, has driven over the last few years. This is not a revolutionary change. The new Sage logo capitalises the first letter and uses a flowing font that is software. Enterprise Times spoke to Steve Hare, CEO of Sage, about the change.

He explained: "This change really is about how we show up for customers. It's about how we extend what we've always done, and in terms of service and software. Making it more and more digital in the way that people want to operate their businesses, they want it more automated, they (want) more things to just happen naturally and they also want that human touch."

Alongside the change of logo, Sage also announced the Sage Membership Masterclass, new sponsorships and new digital network services, including a new offering: Accounting and Compliance as a Service ACaaS. It will also begin a new advertising campaign that features real Sage customers.

This leaked out earlier via an unlisted YouTube video though I've been holding onto it since being "reminded" by a Sage person that this is all highly confidential...

Now that it's published it is public.

I imagine that Sage will roll the same logo and related offering out globally but I don't know for sure.

I did not read anything about the renaming of products.

Sage is a marketing organization that sells / licenses software (and begrudgingly does maintenance on their products too).
A true tech company has a focus on the tech... but Sage focuses on the "branding".

Thanks @Wayne Schulz for the You Tube link!  After watching, I understand why you received a "reminder" from Sage.  Can't wait for the HR enhancement to be integrated with PR.  Guess I will put out a position opening ad for the BLS WHQ call center.  I have a gut feeling that licenses are going to fly out the door now that the logo has changed.   Operators will be standing by!!

I think Sage 100 customers deserve to know what percentage of their "maintenance" goes into "maintaining" Sage's logos...

@Jeff Schwenk - Half the people from Sage who are at the meeting would be completely surprised to learn that there's a new logo.

From the presser - The refreshed Sage brand reflects the simplicity, flow, and confidence that Sage can give to customers.........

I wonder if this applies to all software lines AND to resellers as well???

The joke going around among the competition is that the "g" looks like an "S" so it stands for Self Addressed Stamped Envelope. For new branding and a new logo, you never want to leave yourself open to that interpretation. If that's not Marketing 101, it's soon after that.

They may have had better results submitting the requirements to www.designcrowd.com. (Did I mention I don't like it?)

I keep telling myself it could have been a lot worse. Imagine if they renamed the products once again?

Never forget the boneheaded logic that led  Sage to think "let's take away these brands that people identify with .... and lets just call them all Sage and stick a number after them". It seems like all that happened is "cutting off their nose to spite their face" ..

Followed closely by "let's call it Sage 100 and then add cloud to the end".... this was a branding exercise that nearly everyone at Sage seemed embarrassed by and unable to explain the logic.

Envelope 1 - Blame your predecessor ( replace people appointed by the former administration)
    Envelope 2 - Reorganize ( new logo )
    Envelope 3 - Prepare 3 envelopes

Changing Peachtree to Sage 50 HAD to have resulted in lost revenue.  You are a little business, you go to Best Buy to get some software, and your buddy suggested Peachtree.  Hm, they don't seem to have it.  You ask, and they say no, we don't carry Peachtree.  But here's a nice Quicken you can have...

That was my first reaction too, but I made the leap to "Sassy".  Someone else in my office suggested the S and g are actually dollar signs.  It definitely has a face that only a mother could love.
