Changing Peachtree to Sage 50 HAD to have resulted in lost revenue. You are a little business, you go to Best Buy to get some software, and your buddy suggested Peachtree. Hm, they don't seem to have it. You ask, and they say no, we don't carry Peachtree. But here's a nice Quicken you can have...

I keep telling myself it could have been a lot worse. Imagine if they renamed the products once again?
Never forget the boneheaded logic that led Sage to think "let's take away these brands that people identify with .... and lets just call them all Sage and stick a number after them". It seems like all that happened is "cutting off their nose to spite their face" ..
Followed closely by "let's call it Sage 100 and then add cloud to the end".... this was a branding exercise that nearly everyone at Sage seemed embarrassed by and unable to explain the logic.

The joke going around among the competition is that the "g" looks like an "S" so it stands for Self Addressed Stamped Envelope. For new branding and a new logo, you never want to leave yourself open to that interpretation. If that's not Marketing 101, it's soon after that.
They may have had better results submitting the requirements to www.designcrowd.com. (Did I mention I don't like it?)
