Sage Executive Business Review - Has anyone dug into what Sage is after here - is this an upsale to X3? The guy is from the enterprise team. Message a customer of mine received from Sage - I am your Sage Account Executive and wanted to touch base with you to make sure you are receiving all of the benefits of your Sage Business Care plan. We've recently begun offering a consultative session called an Executive Business Review for your executive team as part of the plan benefits. The Executive Business Review provides insight into best practices that we've learned from working with and surveying thousands of companies who use our product in your industry. In addition, we would like to understand your business priorities for the year and how Sage may be able to help.

Sage's only purpose here has to be keeping customers on maintenance, sell them more products and upgrade them to a follow on product when appropriate. I resent that they are inserting themselves between us and the customers. Their knowledge of those businesses and business in general is nowhere close to what we know and offer. It's an insult to us as professionals.

This Executive Business Review has been going on for at least a year. I mirror John's thoughts.

We have now started seeing these e-mails to our customers. My comment from March still stands.

Apparently this is only done for customer bases under 100, so this applied to one of our acquired groups that Sage insists on keeping as a separate account, so they know how much maintenance dollars to keep for themselves for 24 months.

Just got a call from an ""Account Executive, Enterprise Solutions"" who said he had done an Executive Business Review with one my customers who is interested in SI, CRM, upgrading to 2014, and two additional user licenses. Let's see, we are currently in the process of upgrading them, they didn't want to purchase additional users when they started getting the user limit exceeded message, and we've spoken with them many times about CRM. They currently use Goldmine and have not wanted to spend the additional money to convert to Sage CRM. He said he always works in alliance with the partner and is happy to call any other customers to uncover additional revenue opportunities. I agree with @JohnHoyt that it is a slap in the face to meddle with our customers. We have over 100 customers but it is a mix of 100 and 300 so we may not be over 100 with Sage 100 only. While he made it sound like he wanted to ""partner"" with us, the hair on the back of my neck stood up. He said he would include me on any correspondence with this customer but I am not liking this tactic at all....

We are getting an orphan from this process. It is clearly not about the channel, but 100% about cross sell.
