  • 1.  Sage Exchange - client on 2016.1, installed fix on

    Sage Exchange - client on 2016.1, installed fix on server re 2.0. End user still having issues with it saying he needs to install 2.0 update, when he has. Tried to UNINSTALL SE completely, but it just hangs. Renamed folders in Programs (x86) and in user/Local/blah. Reinstalled workstation. SE will start, but can't install 2.0 update - hangs just like uninstall did. Any ideas?

    Might be worth powering down the computer and restarting - if you haven't already.

    is the issue of hanging on the users pc or the server ?

    We just had this very issue this morning with a client running 2016 as well. SE was behaving exactly the same. What we did to resolve: - Rebooted the server - Installed the latest update. FYI: Installing the update before the reboot was failing. Not sure why. Hope this helps.

    If SE 1.0 was originally installed under different user profiles, that may cause problems with the uninstall. Make sure to get them all.

    I agree with Kevin - you may need to run this on the profile where it was installed.

    This hanging is on the workstation, not the server. I am guessing we're already logged in as the right profile, but we can play with it - there's only 2 more available.

    A recycled workstation could have SE 1.0 installed using the previous owner's profile.

    I just ran these steps on a server, it may help: Skip the ""install update"" from the tray icon--> Stop Sage Exchange from tray icon, restart from the Start menu, update when prompted.

    I finally got this done on the workstation - it appears that it may have just been a lack of patience. It took 10-15 minutes for it to process the uninstall, and then again for the install. It's easier to be patient when you're doing it after hours.
