    Just complaining. I know that many of you have experienced this. I had a prep conversation with a customer about the next upgrade.

    Me:  How many workstations is FAS installed on? I know that you have a 3 user license, but I'm confirming.
    Customer:  We have it installed on 10 computers.
    Me:  So, the staff coordinates as to which 3 can get in at any given time?
    Customer:  No, we bought 7 more licenses. 
    Me:  <Inside voice: Sage is at it again!>

    Researching further, although I have a good customer relationship and fairly frequent contact, it's a large customer with staff who handle different pieces. One of them decided to call Sage directly and buy licenses. Sage didn't cut us in. I'm so happy that I discovered it during a customer discovery call!

    From my point-of-view FAS has always been an "island" separate from the rest of Sage. I don't know how or why this is except to speculate that it must be a very profitable piece of recurring revenue.

    I don't think that I receive a commission on the FAS portion of renewals ( maybe once or twice ). So this doesn't really surprise me.  FAS, to me, has been their own little standalone company within Sage for many years.

    Are you the SFA ROR for this client?  Have you contacted your Sage handler (whatever they are called these days) to complain?  As with so many things Sage, perhaps the paperwork was "lost" and all it will take will be one or two (or three or four or five or six .......) phone calls to make things right.
