If we have the ability to suggest topics I would like to hear what impact if any the encryption keys have on future upgrades.

Will we be able to continue copying MAS_XXX from old to new versions and simply running convert data as many of us have done for upgrades?

    - for payroll 2. To 2.+ upgrades
    - for Sage 100 upgrades

Sorry, we don't record the Sage Developer Roundtables.  We came to that agreement with Sage in order to offer the members exclusive information and avoid NDA tracking, we don't record the meetings, and restrict the meeting to HL members only. When we can record, we do.

Webinar was interesting.  Would be nice if the webinar would be scheduled for 90 minutes and the agenda set for 60.  That would allow presenters to have some overflow (and allow the person up last to have some air time) and also some Q and A at the end.

@Wayne Schulz  - Looks like with encryption keys are here to stay and will not allow the porting of data files to another system.  If this is the case, then how is anyone going to be able to upload client files to MD's and Sage tech support for troubleshooting analysis?  Just yesterday, Scanco asked for client MAS_xxx folder upload so they could troubleshoot why PM to stock did not convert properly.  Is there a utility (secret way) for Sage and MD's to unlock the files for analysis?

You probably need to include MAS90, not just MAS_### for porting systems... but that should only apply to modules with encrypted data / fields.

I think this is going to take some time to flesh out - What data files are encrypted, etc.  Back in September I had to restore to a prior time frame in general ledger to complete a go live Sage 50 migration.  What had balanced a few months earlier no longer did.  I was in v2019 PU.  I didn't have a good backup in 2019 so I tried to use one from 2018 and just reconvert ran into the encryption road block.  tech support said there was nothing they could do.  So sorry.  Ended up reimporting 10 years worth of GL transactions.  So the $64K is what modules are encrypted and how is tech support going to analyze issues.?

I assumed the services were separate (Paya Exchange is for payments through Sage 100, and eInvoicing for click-to-pay / payment portal functionality).

Elliott Pritchard's audio cut out duirng his presentation on Grid Definitions he wanted to clarify the A, B, Y, and Z record types:

    Z – Factory (Sage)
Y – Development Partner (MD) changes
B – Custom Office level records
    A – Specific User/Workstation personalization.

I was trying to watch/listen and saw a lot of it but wanted to clarify - when they were converting data/updated custom panels, etc. does that mean we no longer have to update each section of UDF's by accessing them in UDF field/table Maintenance.

    Quesiton on Sage Intelligence

We had a question on compatibility between Sage Intelligence and Office 2019.

They said, 'yes' to compatibility, but with a couple of caveats, here is their response:

Yes, it (Sage Intelligence) is compatible with Office 2019 as long as installed locally. Does not work with Office 365. Also a note, I believe it does not work with Payroll because of the encryption, because they use ODBC.

'edit' - I literally copied and pasted their reply so 'officially' it's not supposed to work.  ;)

Is it because Office 365 can be locally installed (works) or "cloudy" (which likely doesn't)?

Office actually works 3 different ways based upon activation or web. In a cloud SPLA (traditional on prem) and O365 licensing may be the same version but actually write to different directories and slightly different to the registry. Cloud/web deployment uses different code for browser based manipulation of data. Therefore when SAge builds integrations they must take all those factors into consideration.
