Did anyone attend the March 19 launch of Sage Data & Analytics ?

    Sage Data & Analytics - March 19 ( recording )

    For context, here's the pricing:

    1. Why specify hosting as a separate price if it's mandatory?
    2. Hosting is on Azure - so why list it and have potential SPC customers wonder why they're paying double for Azure hosting?
    3. Doing math to figure out storage requirements? How very cloudlike...

If Sage really wanted to sell licenses - they should have simplified the pricing and cut out the confusing options which I guarantee that nobody on the sales desk is going to understand.

I watched the full video last night. It demos well though I suspect ( but don't know 100% ) that the entry level version is going to be very canned which in my experience is not saleable since any customer with a need for analytics has a need for modifying.  I presume what was demoed was the entry level "out of the box" and aside from being a little prettier none of the analytics were anything that would drive my customers to spend $$.

They also seem to bill this as a way to ease companies transition to the cloud. As if a business analytic package is going to lessen a companies need for the 3 or 4 integrations that Sage has actively promoted ( and our customers bought ) over the past 10 or so years. If an analytics package is all that a company needs to convince them to move to the cloud then they should move to the cloud ASAP. I think the stumbling block for many Sage 100 and 300 customers is the add-ons in use that will prevent them from moving quickly.

And judging from the latest KB entry, it looks as if all support is going to be on the same track as SI. You submit a case to Sage and they hunt for someone who can help.

I agree with the pricing critique. There ought to be something like 3 levels -- simple. And not having a monthly subscription speaks volumes about Sage's internal billing structures.

I don't understand how this is any better than Dataself? Seems to me that if I show the two to a prospect, their response would be, "Why bother with SD&A?"

I tell all my customers that I prefer 90 Minds affiliates because they all attend our meetings and they know to work hard to maintain a good reputation.

I agree 100% with @Jerry Norman here. I would recommend DataSelf to handle this and not look back. I've never had a bad experience with DataSelf, with Sage 300 or Acumatica. I haven't used them with Sage 100, but I would expect the same results because Joni has a quality team!

I also agree with @Jerry Norman and @Lloyd Smith.  I spent he whole webinar looking for something that wasn't in DataSelf and not finding anything.  While SDA might have the same quality and Sage 100 expertise, I find that doubtful, and having to order though Sage adds an extra layer of bureaucracy and opportunity for finger pointing instead of problem solving.
