    Have you - or someone in your company - implemented Sage Data & Analytics? If so, how'd it turn out? Was the customer happy? How long did it take them to implement. What other options did you compare against and why did they go with SDA?

    We switched to Sage Enterprise Intelligence last year.  SDA is pricey and requires a lot of support (not user friendly).

    I had one client seriously looking at it, but I steered them towards DataSelf instead.  I'm tired of Sage switching report writers every few years and wasn't comfortable recommending it.  My thought was DataSelf has been around for years and is tried and true.  Hopefully they're not going anywhere.  The client wasn't happy with Sage Intelligence.  

    The number of pre-defined reports that Dataself has was a big selling point for them.  When asked what reports they were looking for, they couldn't provide definitive answers.  They just knew they wanted reports.  As expected, most canned reports didn't work because they needed tweaking.  Plus they have Operations Management, so that info isn't in any canned reports.  

    The DataSelf implementation ended up taking about 6 months, much longer than the client expected, but they're happy with the outcome.  Joni's team is great to work with.

    For our clients (especially with OM) we steer them to Power BI reporting.  These customers are on SQL so we have full access to customize SQL views to feed the Power BI data sets.  This works fantastic allows us to tailor the reporting to their analytical and operational needs. It also allows reporting from datasets beyond just Sage 100.  Power BI per user is $10 a month via Microsoft.  Support low cost of entry..  Report development time can of course vary.
