Sage Customer Communications In speaking to a customer who uses Sage 100 Payroll, she mentioned she has not received any Payroll updates for 2 years, and she never receives any communication from Sage, except for the annual maintenance invoice. We are working with her on the Aatrix integration now, but do you have other customers who seem to never get any communications from Sage? That seems to be contrary to the ""Customers for Life"" philosophy. (I did tell her she's fortunate that Sage has not pestered he about buying more software.)

Where is the balance???? Too many marketing pitches and not enough technical notifications. Isn't that what Sage advisor is supposed to do - Advise that there are updates to install? I try to stay on top of the technical updates for the clients (PU's, tax tables and YE IRD's). Very tough to do. Perhaps this is another way to suggest a support agreement from your company so that you can be her eyes and ears regarding the technical releases...

Great idea @JeffSchwenk ! I'll buy you a free drink at Summit. The customer also mentioned that she wished they would simplify the accounting design and not require so many decisions. I've never heard that before. I promised I would meet with her soon to review those concerns (and maybe even sell her more stuff!)

I have the same issue with a couple clients using payroll. In fact if it wasn't for this group I wouldn't get all the information. Seems like I get emails from Sage hit and miss.

Hard to tell exactly what customers are getting - or not getting. It'd be nice if Sage just sent 90 Minds every announcement since we tend to hear about them eventually anyhow.

@KellySappington - I do not get many e-mails from SAGE either. So I sent them this email - ""Dear SAGE Software: The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated

I've been relegated to ""Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the western spiral arm of the Galaxy"" to quote Douglas Adams, where I received nothing from Sage. They periodically assign data entry to some dyslexic person or something causes the e-mail to you to be undeliverable. It then gets put into a dead file, and no one bothers to check it.

Communications are probably based on how well you score for cross sell.

I spoke with a customer recently who told me the same thing. So, I checked the Sage Portal and found her email address to be accurate and she was the primary contact. So, I asked if she was receiving our newsletters that we send monthly. She told me no. My assumption is that spam filters are catching far more emails than any of us anticipate. I get way too many emails from Sage so I find it hard to believe that any customer with a valid email address registered with Sage is not being included in the email blasts. My two cents...

IMHO, Sage is targeting people that are ""coming to them"" for information. They no longer want to ""outbound"" connect with their clients, instead moving to the mode of ""come to us for the answers"".

Wouldn't mind the 'come to us for the answers' if they actually answered the questions. Guess its job security for us.

Update: Sage had a bad e-mail address. It is in the customer profile on the Portal correctly. Apparently no one is paid to do a little research.
