Sage Cross Sell Team Not sure if I missed this in a discussion, but my RSM just indicated to me that the Sage Cross Sell Team has been disbanded. That was the group that had very little knowledge, except what was written on their scripts, and called all of our clients, thus making everyone unhappy. I assume this was for all products that were being cross sold, but he didn't say.

Hence when I heard they wanted to have a 'discussion' with the clients, I knew it would just be death by powerpoint for upsells

Haven't you heard Ed Kless' on the word discussion and it's shared root with the word concussion?

In my view this is a fairly big miss for Sage. Those of us (most) who've been around probably recall prior cross-sell campaigns. They come out of the gate with a big BANG. The low hanging fruit gets sold High fives all. Then when you get past the easy ones the campaign tends to stall. Sage in this iteration is betting big on cross-sell. in my opinion some executive Sage careers could be on the line.

The team selling and managing maintenance is charged with cross sell now. This has not gone away and will not anytime soon.

Uh, no. But it's a new team - all across the board. Remember the old selling and maintenance people also got relieved. It's a reorganization explained as making more sense because the renewals folks are also upselling. Seems more logical. However the main point is that Sage misfired on the cross sell to begin with --- not that it's going away. If they were not able to execute on the first cross-sell will they be able to execute better when they setup round 2?
