Sage Computer Systems - 866-514-9786 Does anyone know whether any of your customers have been telemarketed by this company? If so, can you provide any details about the company? Fortunately, one of my customers thought to contact me before speaking with them. The caller represented herself as being with ""Sage"" and wanted to discuss their software subscription.

Pretty tricky naming their company with Sage in the name. Then they can say they are with Sage.

They may be in for a surprise when customer's tell them what they think of Sage...then they'll rebrand to another name...

My thought exactly, @JaneCavanaugh! My customer thought that it was SAGE calling. She went ahead and spoke with them after conferring with me. The person said something like ""oh, if you have a reseller, then you probably don't need to speak with us"", but then pressed on with ""can I tell you about our services?"" So we not only have to contend with Sage trying to take over our customers, but Sage impostors as well. Which reinforces that a tight customer relationship with frequent communication is key to retaining customers.

Are you certain this wasn't Sage? Did the 866 number ring back to a live person who answered or did they have to wait for another call?

I called after 5:00 last night. The recording said ""thank you for calling Sage Computer Systems"" and ""please leave your name, phone number, and the person you are trying to reach and we will call you back"". When I called today, the person who answered did not announce the company name. She simply said ""this is Roxanne"". I asked for the extension that the caller had left for my customer to call. Roxanne asked for my name, company name, and phone #. I gave her my name, but said that I was calling on behalf of my customer's company, and gave her my 'direct' phone, which was my cell. Roxanne put me on hold for a couple of minutes and then said that ""Tracy"" wasn't available and that she would return my call. Instead, she called my customer again.

Wow. That is agressive.

I would think that Sage's legal department would be happy to cure this problem for us...

Good thought, @PhilMcIntosh. I'll find out if that's an option.
