Trying to upgrade v9 to v10 and it's been a disaster.  The v10 install seems to have broken my v9, as I cannot get the service to start.  Getting Error 1053: the service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.  I've uninstalled v10, reinstalled v9 and still have the same error.  I've googled the 1053 and the increase in the pipeline timeout doesn't seem to apply.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Yes, I've been working with their tech support but it's been about 2 weeks of back and forth and I'm still stuck.  Thanks!

Is it just me or do others think installing V10 (clean or upgrade) is a bumpy highway to hell????

If the client is on Premium Sage 100, it is not difficult to get to function.

Our prior experience with Standard/Advanced Clients was that it just did not work, and we had to uninstall and install 9.0 non SQL version.  I'm "waiting" for what I believe is v10.5, and "hope" we have some success with that version.

I did an upgrade many months ago where customer IT did the v10 KS upgrade (coupled with a server move), and they expressed difficulty in getting it to work (with KS support being difficult to work with).  Thankfully their business requirements had a testing period of months, so there wasn't a time crunch on the fixes, but it is still not ideal.  (Oh, and they were a Premium to Premium upgrade... not sure if the source system was KS SQL).

Fyi, here's our understanding based on Greg's response to us yesterday; we were told 9/12 :)   :

    Basically:
    • SMTP Authentication is not affected by Microsoft disabling Basic Auth, although it may be in the future so we should update within the next few months.
    • Sage Alerts version 10.5 to support OAuth is expected to release this Monday, Sept 12th.
