  • 1.  Sage Alerts to monitor email box and update Sales Order Header

    Posted 10-21-2020 08:34
I have a customer who wants Knowledgesync to monitor an email box and based on some specific flag in the body of the email, update a UDF field in sales order header with a "Y" or "N" check box.  Does anyone have experience with this?

    Thanks

I have done something similar to this using KnowledgeSync with a different ERP system, but the back-end database for the ERP was SQL. The same process should work with Sage 100 if the client is on Sage 100 Premium. I'm less confident that it will work if they are on Standard or Advanced.

Thanks Raymond.  They are on Advanced.  Is the email monitoring piece straightforward?

The E-Mail Response System setup is pretty straightforward. Once you set up the e-mail box to monitor you just have to create the message rules that will trigger the action. You can look at any part of the incoming message (sender, subject, body text) to trigger an action. If you want to look at the Subject or body text of a message, ERS will work best with system-generated messages that are very consistent in content and layout. If you can collect certain information in a web form and then have a form e-mail sent to the KnowledgeSync mailbox, that would probably give you the best results.
