Is anyone else going through this?
We have clients still on perpetual licenses for SAW. We get the notice from Sage that the perpetual license is going to renew, but then it just doesn't. Then Sage says you are now lapsed so you will just have to start a new subscription license, for like double, triple, or almost 4x the cost of before. No heads up. No gradual movement of a higher rate of renewal year over year to push towards subscription. This seems intentional. Let is lapse so a new subscription is required. When I push back, I am told it is what it is.
The clients are not aware they are lapsed. Since the program still works & they are paying Sage monthly or annually, they assume its part of those fees & its not.
I have a report from ECI with the amount of lapsed fees, which the client would be willing to pay to get them back on track, but Sage won't honor that perpetual rate going forward. So why would they even pay the back fees?
Just no transparency to us or the client.
