Epilogue - After many hours of putzing around with this, sending emails back and forth with sales advisors to verify the correctness of the keys, 45 minutes with tech support tonight, following the suggestions of KB article 26119 and just before sending a support request off to DSD (were their enhancements the culprit), this is how I resolved it. Shut off the ADV service, fire up v2017 in STD mode, click on the update button in system configuration and breathe a sigh of relief because it finally worked. No clue why but STD mode comes through yet again. Hip hip, Hurrah!!!
