Client running Sage 100 2020 Adv had issues with some pvxwin32.exe programs that appeared to be hung up with no end user attached and could not kill, had to reboot.  After rebooting, got errors in the app and had to restore the HOME folder ONLY from backup.  Was able to run at that point BUT - trashy files.  Got error on GL Detail History file during AR Invoice HIstory Inquiry - rebuilt the file and looks like the majority of the postings from the day before and the few done that morning were ALL removed during the rebuild.  Error on Item Transaction History file and could not rebuild normally - had to use UFAR and it went from having a .001 and .002 to only having a .001 - UFAR doesn't tell you what it got rid of, so who knows there.

Other files were fine - we can see the invoices entered through PO ROI in the vendor files, can see the IM transactions in history and in detail and in IM_ItemWarehouse QOH, etc, but, for example, the PO Qty Rcvd and Qty Invcd were not updated.

I know - but that's when we found out the backup server was flashing a message telling them they needed to reinitialize the hard drive, so no backups to go to.

ANYWAY, they were able to capture the original error on a pvxwin strand and that is what I am actually posting about - wondering whether anyone has even seen a similar error.

The "strings" in pvxwin32.exe are not actually errors. Every single error string you see there is normal "visible" text that you could see anyway if you opened pvxwin32.exe with a hex editor application (any advanced text editor). IOW those error strings are ready to be shown in an error message but do not mean an actual error occurred. It's just a red herring. Disk failure is what I think you're dealing with.
