Sage 64 Bit

Has anyone installed the 64 bit Sage 100 in an EXISTING installation?  If so, can you share your observations?

Has anyone installed the 64 bit Sage 100 at a NEW client (no existing Sage installs)?

Just wondering how many pioneers we have out there.

Just because the idea of Jeff alone on a thread scares me....

Ordinarily, I'm the pioneering bleeding edge type, but my understanding was that this breaks just about all third-party products (and Sage Intelligence), so I have no customers using this yet.

I'm very wary of the bleeding edge, and am staying away unless someone specifically requests / needs 64-bit.

X-REF: The issue with Sage Intelligence and Sage 100 64-bit is:

Sage Intelligence Reporting is not supported in a 64-bit Sage 100 2021 installation.

Resolution 1: Use the 32-bit/64-bit utility to convert back to 32-bit Sage 100 2021.

    1. Back up all Sage 100 data and installation files, then from the computer where the main Sage 100 2021 program was installed, run the 32_64_Bit_Switch_Utility.exe file (from the folder containing the Sage 100 installation program media) and accept the request to convert from 64-bit back to 32-bit Sage 100 2021.
    2. The Workstation Synchronization program automatically upgrades the workstations the next time Sage 100 is started on the workstation.
    3. Once the Workstation Synchronization completes on the computer you want to run Sage Intelligence Reporting on, Sage Intelligence Reporting will be able to register and then run reports.

Resolution 2: Create a shortcut to run Sage Intelligence outside of Sage 100

Is there a way to tell if the Sage 100 installation is 64 bit?

Help then About Sage 100 seems to show 32 bit or 64 bit.

One of the questions on the survey @Anne Sawyer has sent us what is preventing us from upgrading.  This might be one of the reasons.  Sage develops something new, but it isn't supported by any third party enhancement that many clients run.

I just ran the utility to change from 64 to 32 bit.  If you run the host service, it has to be shut down before running the utility.  The host won;t start up once the utility is finished because the service path to the executable (pvxwin64.exe to pvxwin32.exe) does not get changed by the Sage utility.  To get the service to run you would either need to uninstall and reinstall it or modify the path in the registry.
