Sage 2023 ADV PU1 workstation is Win 11 HOME

    Odd duck here.

Client is running Sage v2023 ADV on a WIN 11 HOME workstation in their shipping department, primarily for shipping data entry.  The Sage user is very restricted beyond shipping data entry.  When they access shipping data entry, the screen continually "flashes", the user is unable to enter their shipper ID number.  Eventually, the program is ended via the task manager.  When I log into Sage (full access), I encounter the same issue.  When another employee logs into Sage, they instantly can enter the shipper ID immediately.  We even gave the shipping user full access.  Still an issue

Yes, I know they should be on the HOME version!!!!.

But why can ONE Sage user access shipping data entry without issue and the shipping clerk and I (full access) cannot?  We are NOT logging into the workstation, ONLY

    Sage.

    Very perplexing.

    Thoughts?

    TIA

Try changing the screen resolution (right click on the desktop, then Display Settings).

@Doug Higgs - Winner winner, chicken dinner.  Looks like I owe you beer and pizza the next time I come to Chicago.  Thanks for the resolution tip.

@Jeff Schwenk You don't owe me anything... however, if you insist, let's go to Pequod's or Lou Malnati's for pizza.

@Beth Bowers  I don't know the technical reason why, however, I have had to fix this issue a few times per Sage KB solution ID 223924850043866 (attached to this post).

Ah, thank you @Doug Higgs.  As usual, my searching skills on the Sage KB suck.

I've run into this too where only on 1 machine (the server!), any task run off of the Launcher did what Jeff described. Fortunately @Chris Love figured out Application Scaling on the View had to be changed back to Default. I don't remember what the screen resolution was set to though.

It's usually some mixture of 3 things:  Application Scaling within Sage, Monitor Resolution, and the Scaling/zoom of the monitor.  Most of the time, changing the Application Scaling within Sage to Default typically fixed it, but it's probably also a byproduct of the monitor's resolution or the zoom (125% or 150%) the user may put on their monitors as well due to poor eye sight. Some mixture of these just didn't play well. Usually it seemed to be when the Sage task screen was almost as large or larger than the resolution/available screen.

When I see this, it typically means that the window in question is slightly bigger than the windows screen resolution allows.

Typically a small monitor and they have set the application scaling to something bigger than the default.  Usually reducing the app scaling fixes it.
