Hello I'm upgrading from 2018 Advance to 2022 Premium. When on the server we can run canned reports within Sage 2022 without error.
When we try and run reports from a client 2022 workstation we get "The database login failed. Error in File GL_ChartofAccountxxx.rpt: Unable to to connect: incorrect log on parameters."
    Steps we've taken to resolve/review
    • Confirmed SQL login is correct through SQL utility.
    • No Firewall are turned on.
    • Updated Antivirus exclusions and paths
    • Ran workstation As Administrator
    • Logged into SQL using MAS_Reports login.
    • Review SQL database permissions for MAS_Reports
    • Created a ODBC using SQL Server Native Client 11 connection from workstation without issue.
    • At workstation, opened custom crystal report through Sage Report Manager, updated database, tested and confirmed data, saved. Still could not run crystal report through custom reports menu.
    Any suggestions would be helpful.

    Multiple workstations or just one?

    Reinstall the workstation client?

Can you run Crystal Designer from workstation and generate the (a) report?

    Jeff,

This is all workstations. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled both Sage and Crystal run times. I can edit one of the Sage custom reports, repoint the database and generate a report in Crystal. I save the custom report and try to run in Sage and get the above error.

    Heh Tina,
So I had something strange like that happen to me on an Premium upgrade where it screwed up all the reports even its own.   Did you create a backup of new premium before the migration?  Please tell me you did?  If you did go to the Reports directory of new Sage before it was touched by the parallel migration.  Copy in the Reports directory after renaming the Report directory that is currently failing all reports.  If you put the reports in fresh can you run them now?

    Carmen,

That fixed it! Thank you so much. I'll just have to work on their custom reports in getting them back in.

I know you said the SQL Login in the SQL Settings utility was correct, but is the Database Server there pointing to the complete SQL Server Instance name (and not "localhost")? And if there are multiple SQL Server instances on that server, is the SQL Server Browser service running and being allowed through the Windows Firewall?

The other gotcha is inside SQL Server Configuration Manager, make sure TCP/IP is enabled for the instance under the SQL Server Network Configuration Protocols.
