  • 1.  Sage 2021 Std won't open after login

    Doing a live 2017 to 2021 upgrade (over a Test upgrade).  I can log in as Administrator and the Admin window opens and I can create users, roles, etc.
    When I close and log in as a user (tried myself and a new user profile), Sage doesn't open.  It's running in Task Manager but won't open.

    Went back and tried to open my 'Copy B4 Live' version and it won't open either.

    I don't have a C:\users\blytheco\documents folder - should I for Standard?
    I don't see AV on the machine.

    I've uninstalled/installed wksetup, removing registry entries and when I launch Sage, Workstation Synchronization doesn't appear which seems weird too.
    Thoughts?

    It is something with Windows and it opening in a minimized mode. There is a keyboard shortcut that fixes this. Like Alt M or control alt M. I have run into this before.

    Or, it might think it's on another screen.  Change your screens so that you aren't doing any "extending" to another monitor.

    Try alt space M then hit arrow key. It is the shortcut for moving windows.

    OMG - IT copied user profiles from the Old Server over to this new Server last week and that caused the issues!
    He at least admitted it was a Rookie Mistake and probably won't make it again!
    ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Had this happen on a user and this used:

    Hold the Shift Key down and Right-click the sub-task window and select 'Restore' or 'Maximize' . The form will either open maximized or it will show the task as a small, rectangular window that you may resize or maximize as needed.

    I also noted that the user folder appeared in a non-standard location so it’s possible that was at play.

    I think I wound up setting the shortcut ( via properties ) to open maximized with mixed results.

    Also, 2021.1 changed the location of the user’s Sage 100. I think it is now under appdata. If you have PU1 double check the list of fixes and changes.
