  • 1.  Sage 2018 Advanced R2 with JobOps Workstation update failed

    Posted 02-01-2019 14:07
I have installed Sage 100 Advanced R2 with JobOps.  Now when I try to launch the workstation the Synchronization starts but ultimately fails with the following error message:

    Workstaion update failed!
One or more files was not updated.
Addition information can be found in:
    E:\Sage\Sage 100 Worstation\MAS90\Home\AutoUpdateMAS_Log.txt
Please contact your system administrator for assistance.

The damn thing is lying because there IS NO AutoUpdateMAS_Log.txt!
This problem only happened AFTER I applied the JobOps 6.00.2.0.2

Did you install the JobOps Workstation Help Files first?

Yes.  The Visual C++ 2012 redistributables fail but the help files install.

Hey Chuck in the past I think @Moira Goggin had run into something like this. She said something to the effect of the VBS file for Workstation Sync on a particular wkstn was associated in Windows Explorer to Notepad. In other words, find the autoupdatelaunch.VBS file on the workstation (not server) and look in the location where you ran Wkstn Setup. In Windows Explorer (File Explorer) go to  \Mas90\Home\Lib\_Updater, double-click it and see if it opens in Notepad or anything at all. If it opens in Notepad or whatever it means it's not executing the VBS script. So you would have to re-associate .VBS with the "Windows Scripting Host".

@Alnoor Cassim, thanks for the response.  The "autoupdatelaunch.VBS" is associated with the "Windows Scripting Host."  I did a complete uninstall.  Then, I installed the base Sage 100 Advanced 2018.  The workstation set up fine.  Next I installed the PU2.  When I try to run the workstation, the synchronization give the same failure.  What's more, if I load PVXWIN32.exe from the server "Home" directory to run the Sage system "MAS 90 style," I get the SAME workstation synchronization failure!  This doesn't appear to be JobOps related.

But did it create an AutoUpdateMAS_Log.txt in the server's Home directory for you to review when you ran Mas90 style ?
