I-BN always recommends upgrades be performed in a controlled manner in a test environment prior to use in your daily business (production). We understand that our on-premise customers do not always have the available computing resources for a controlled test, and may perform an in-place upgrade. If you have any third party applications, customized components or integrations with your existing Sage system, we highly recommend you contact I-BN for an evaluation of your system or for a cloud test environment prior to installation of this new version.
**Platinum Care**
With this release, Sage is offering a new level of Platinum Business Care which adds appointment scheduling with a dedicated Platinum support team along with additional Sage Intelligence and Sage CRM licenses.
I-BN recommends the Platinum plan for customers with existing Gold plans who can take advantage of the additional licenses and want the ability to schedule their support appointments directly with Sage.
**Sage 100c**
This release coincides with a new flavor of Sage 100 called Sage 100c. The 100c version includes a new user interface and is available only in the subscription licensing model. It is our understanding that because the underlying programs are the same in the two version (100 and 100c), Sage is issuing new license keys for all customers.
Customers that are current on maintenance have the option to trade in their perpetual licenses for subscription licenses and have their initial subscription capped at 115% of current maintenance costs and upfront cost. Customers who have been off maintenance can become current with a new Sage 100c system at a lower cost than traditional licensing.
To find out more about Sage 100c, attend one of the Sage webinars: What's New 2016 Sage 100c.
