Sage 100

Sage 100cloud Advanced 2018 6.30 - the customer has been using a regular login for Sage. They want to go to the unified Login which I'm testing. They are also in the process of moving users to a remote desktop login. If my ""regular"" Sage 100 login was 'wes' and I need to change it to 'wschulz' (which is my windows login) - can I (safely / reliably ) use the **rename** function on the user maintenance screen for Sage? I'm concerned that there may be some hidden ""gotcha"" if I rename 15 to 20 users from their traditional login to their windows login. I've already tested unified login by creating (not renaming) an account and it seems to work just fine. I'm curious if anyone has renamed a whole bunch of users in preparation for unified login and if you encountered any unexpected issues?

Do I have to blank out passwords when I rename to a unified login? I don't think so but not sure if leaving the password creates an issue

Did some online searching: - Looks as if you still want to have a password assigned the account before you enabled unified login as ODBC connections apparently still uses the ""regular"" Sage login/pw

Yes correct ODBC connections do not observe Unified Logon so you want to keep a password for that. Customizer will be OK, e.g. it will rename the folder for user specific customization \mas90\AR\ from ""wes-ABC"" to ""wshulz-ABC"". Everything user related to the ""Classic"" Launcher will be OK too (custom buttons, private Tasks, etc). I just don't know about the newer Launcher such as whether the Favorites will retain. You might want to test that.

I renamed about 15 users with no apparent problems. Turned on unified login and everything worked. I have Visual Cut doing a nightly export and that was not impacted.
