Sage 100c to SAP We have an existing Sage 100c customer that has been purchased by a German company and there will be a 6-month transition in the near future from Sage 100c to SAP ERP 6.0. Does anyone have experience doing this?

No, but we have experience with 3 different clients THINKING they are going to do this and then deciding differently, in the end... Hold on, you may get lucky.

Yes, we have clients who were being required to do this and then they either find how much the SAP licenses will be or how much easier it is to import GL monthly for consolidations. And then there's that English to German issue.

We have the same experience as Beth. One of our customers has been waiting for at least 7 years now, and we are finally talking to them about upgrading and expanding their Sage 100 system.

This is the big SAP software, formerly known as SAP R/3.

And 6.0 makes no sense to me from an SAP perspective. It is like any other migration where you are going from a relatively simple system to an overly complex one... We had the same experience with a customer of ours that took about 3 years to make the transition. It will likely result in tremendous turnover na dfrustration for your existing customer as German's love complexity and us American's love simplicity...

This is an interesting exchange. We have had 3 Sage 100 customers who conducted a system search, purchased the new ERP system and then a year or so into the transition decided to stay on Sage 100. I wonder how common this actually is.

I just met with a prospect that had MAS 90 for years, continued to use it for one division, but they themselves converted to Syspro 5 years ago. I was not going to offer my opinion of Syspro, but they were not shy about theirs. They hate it and want to go back to Sage 100, which is still on subscription under 100c. The division using it was sold to a UK company who uses some form of Sage, and will let the division continue to use 100c. So one of the two now has to license a new copy. I win!

This is one reason why SAP is pushing SAP Business One to these small subsidiaries as it has native integration to big SAP for Sales Order to PO and visa versa as well as sending journal entries to mama SAP
