Sage 100

Sage 100 v4.5. Client wants to reconfigure their GL account segments. Unfortunately, one of their segments is currently sized for four and they want to shrink it down to two. Officially, this is not possible. Does anyone have a work around for this? Client has three companies that they want to shrink and then we have to consolidate all three companies into one. I just realized they had this downsizing issue.....

I would think without custom programming you'll need to create a new company (not sure if that was your plan to begin with or if you planned on keeping one and merging the other two in with the 1st). But if you pull the data out, map to the new account structure, and import into the new company that should work.

Client agreed to keep the second segment. Would be nice if there was a utility to decrease the segment. After all, does it really matter if you are still using the 9 character key to do all of the linking to other modules.
