I just had this happen with my first 2020 GLAPAR upgrade. Favorites is very prolific. And one oddity is that her workstation has some kind of relationship with the server, where it thinks they are one and the same. Did you find a solution

Back to this thread regarding v2020 readiness. Latest issue - are user favorites now global (e.g. available for all to use)? I thought they eliminated global all user favorites. Client on v2020 called last week. His favorites were multiplying. Favorites he had no desire to use were appearing. So we deleted. They were back the next day. Deleted. Next day, they are back. Stayed that way for a day or two. Call today from another user upset that her shortcuts were missing. we I looked, they were identical to what the other user set up. So we put hers back on. Waiting for user one to call me about the mystery favorites reappearing.. ADV version in play.

If it truly is an ALL company requirement, why are the selection boxes ACTIVE if the "convert all companies" option is NOT selected. How about giving a reason in the System activity log why routine failed (don't need it if the options are grayed out). I rarely convert all companies at once. If the conversion blows on one company (happens), then I have restart (I usually skip the backup and test companies that don't need to be converted immediately). Plus, I am still migrating PR to the new framework, so these are done one at a time. Since all the reports are converted with the "all company" conversion option, why not just code the conversion program to assume all companies have been selected? Honestly, the interface usability is really lacking here!!!!! Great idea but poorly implemented. Classic Sage!!!!!

Well that certainly is interesting! And much appreciated. But the fact of the matter is that the vast majority of Sage resellers (and probably 90 M's)did not attend MOTM. Anything said during those two days do not count for us unless someone were to publish that information for all (hint, hint).
From the official help text (snipit below), it says NOTHING about converting all companies! If you are supposed to select all companies for conversion, then program the selection so they are only active when converting all companies. I rarely convert all companies initially. I convert the important one(s) and move on with the conversion process. And as @Kevin Moyes says, PR is enough headache for one company at a time.
And if this is really the situation, why does the activity log indicate the custom office panel utility ran? The words cluster and fork comes to mind.
Convert SAP Crystal Reports
If you select the Convert SAP Crystal Reports check box, the custom reports and forms for active modules are converted to the current level when you run conversion.
After the company data conversion is complete, anyone logged into Sage 100 can continue working while the reports and forms are being converted.
The amount of time needed to convert company data is not affected by the SAP Crystal Reports conversion.

Yes... I remember that screen from MOTM, and since you can't Convert All with a PR 1.0 upgrade to PR 2.0, it won't work if any migrated companies include PR 1.0 data.

To Clarify, after you have migrated the system to V2020. When you goto company maintenance to convert the companies you need to select the convert all companies checkbox. you should be prompted with this.
This will give you the option to
1) Convert Data for all companies
2) Convert SAP Crystal reports
3) Update Customer Office Panels to Current Level.
It looks like you have 1 chance to do it .

4th migration. SAP Crystal reports failed to convert....... AGAIN! Only migrated one company. the all company conversion option was grayed out. Still scratching my head looking for a reason. The conversion time took 39 seconds.

I seem to remember Elliott saying something about needing to convert all companies for the new features to be available.

Kenny, this is supposed to be in the background (without a progress window). Review your conversion logs and you will see some activity. Either we are missing something or it isn't ready for the prime time stage.

I don't think the Crystal conversion is happening when you run it through the Company conversion. I have done 4 small upgrades, including my own, and none of the reports get converted. No prompts or anything either. I still had to run MASCRW.
I'm not sure about the Custom Panels. I did not see anything happen so i ran them myself.

Thanks. Help text on the topic is not exactly helpful!!!
Conversion Options
Two new options in the Convert Module Data Files window allow you to do more when converting company data.
Update Custom Office Panels to Current Level
If you select the Update Custom Office Panels to Current Level check box, the Custom Office panel update is run for any customized panels for the companies being converted. This update runs without any prompts.

I understand the the Auto Crystal update works behind the scene and with run as an invisible process .. It does take some time. I will see if I can get some details on how it runs. Elliot spoke about it during MOTM.

These new features are very mysterious…………….
Did my third migration over the weekend. A somewhat vanilla install with no enhancements but with some heavy screen modifications (UDF's) on SO entry and SO invoice entry and some scripting.
The auto Crystal update totally missed the Rpt's in the MAS_System reports folder. The mascrcw.exe utility had to be run to pick those reports up (folder is where I store all of my Crystal form RPT's that are system wide. Most clients only have one company). The custom Office utilities (below) had to be manually run (Customer maintenance panel (tab one) was not changed until I did.
Of course, when the Sage makes changes to the fields sizes (Customer address field size, etc), the various panels have to be rearranged and tab stops reset.
On the plus side, user favorites survived the migration (Advanced install) .
All in all, the migration tools rate a "C". Just not sure how they are supposed to work and save us time. Not seeing it. Too lazy to look for help text on subject. Have not looked into the grid enhancements.

@Jeff Schwenk it was v2018 to v2020, Framework PR to Framework PR. nothing fancy, one company, 100 Standard. Again, it might have been something specific to this upgrade even though I did not get any errors or have any issues during the upgrade. I guess we'll find out when more people upgrade.

@Kenny Daniel - What did you migrate from? I haven't done any PR migrations from the modern version of PR.

I did one last weekend with Distribution, Financials and PR, no add-ons. The one issue I came across was that none of the PR Custom reports would run. They all gave errors when running directly from Sage. Didn't find anything on the KB. I figured it was something with the PII permissions. I deleted the reports from the custom menu and added them back and they all worked. Not sure if that's specific to this customer or if it's a Sage bug.
