Sage 100 v2015 Advanced. Customer just finished a Physical Count. The Physical Count Variance Register total shows one number but the amount posted to the G/L is totally different. Can't seem to find anything on the knowledgebase. They did take a few extra days to update the frozen count, all while conducting business as usual but I don't think that would cause a variance between the register and the G/L. They are using serialized inventory and have the ACSG Multi-Bin add-on. TIA

Just a guess but they don't have a product line with the asset and adjustment account the same, do they? And then there's the MB possibility....

Physical Count Variance Register has always been wrong from GL.

Thanks @ThereseLogeais. I'll take a look at their product line setup. @JaneScanlan, are you saying the Register Total never matches what gets posted to the Inventory Control and Adjustment account. Why would that be? I don't recall any other customer ever complaining about this

I believe it is a problem with Lot and Serial items. Even the Count Card Variance Register is wrong. If there are multiple lots for the same item (i'm sure for serial numbers too), the Register uses the same lot cost for each item, instead of the actual lot cost. I've had to modify that report. You should review what each of the Serial Number unit costs are that print on the Variance Report, to see if they are the actual Serial Unit Costs in the Inventory tiers.

I found this KB below but it says it was fixed in a 2014 PU. I thought it was only when you imported lot items? I believe that was my dilemma. https://support.na.sage.com/selfservice/viewdocument.do?noCount=true&externalId=50221&sliceId=1&cmd=displayKC&dialogID=85042&docType=kc&isLoadPublishedVer=&stateId=85044&docTypeID=DT_Article&ViewedDocsListHelper=com.kanisa.apps.common.BaseViewedDocsListHelperImpl

Not fixed, and I had posted about this earlier this year.

@JaneScanlan sounds like you are right. Do you know which costs it uses for the register, Average, Standard, Last cost ?
