Sage 100 v2013. We've created an Access database to display Job profitability since the JC reports are worthless. We actually have two databases, a back-end with tables based on Sage data and a front-end of queries, forms and reports. The back-end resides on the network and the front-end on local PCs. We'd like to migrate the back-end to SQL as we've had some corruption due to the huge tables. To test this we migrated the tables to SQL and created a new front-end that uses an ODBC connection to the SQL tables. The first time the tables are opened there is a fairly long delay. However, the second time (or thereafter) the tables open instantly, or almost. We've found references to creating persistent connections but are concerned about the overhead. I realize this is a bit off topic for Sage 100 Routine but hoped someone might have dealt with this before. Any thoughts?
