I will, just need a little time to compile my questions.

One of my customers is very unhappy with the payroll reports printing landscape. Any possibility of adding a ""Print Condensed"" option so they can print in the portrait orientation?

Where are the biggest Gotcha's during the upgrade and use?

Many of the 2018 Payroll reports include employee's social security numbers. My customers are editing each report to exclude the SSN. Would it be possible to add an option to exclude the number when printing?

Definitely for Sage to provide detailed information about the tax rules. Tips on modifying the new Crystal payroll check form. Development of a tips and tricks document for payroll upgrades and one for use of payroll where we can add what Sage tells us plus what all of us have encountered with date reported and date resolved for each. Since a lot of our clients are in WA, I would like a status of the changes that were told were coming to help with tracking and reporting WA L&I.

Really haven't gotten our feet wet in PR yet, but I have a few questions in the attached document. Overall, I find the help files woefully inadequate, but then again, they are in so many other places, as well.

Just ran a PR for Jerry Thomas in ABC in 2017 with the latest TTU and in 2018. Fed W/H match. The rest of the taxes don't. Are folks that are upgrading clients running into this in live environments?

Yes, you have to play with the tax rules. I believe @MerilynVanZwieten has a few tips on this.

    Posted 04-06-2018 07:18
The help screens have some tips on the some of the tax rules both for earnings codes and deduction codes. You and your client must take care with assigning the tax rules. The IRS has issued a new Circular E that you can use to confirm the federal withholding. So far, everything seems to match up.

Add ""test"" to the description for the Z tax rules so users don't accidently assign them or remove them.

  • 14.  RE: **Sage 100 v 2018 Payroll Roundtable - What do you

    Posted 04-09-2018 08:33
@MoiraGoggin do you mean add ""test"" to the description for Z tax PROFILES? Is that recommendation a response to this comment by @ErinOldaker in this post? https://90minds-com.socialcast.com/messages/38549257?ref=stream Which, by the way, I'm curious to know how/why those Z tax profiles ""won't work"".

  • 15.  RE: **Sage 100 v 2018 Payroll Roundtable - What do you

    Posted 04-09-2018 08:39
Yes, profiles. I'm guessing that someone reached out to Linda and she confirmed that Z profiles wouldn't work.

  • 16.  RE: **Sage 100 v 2018 Payroll Roundtable - What do you

    Posted 04-09-2018 09:25
Please add the ""Z profiles don't work"" to the list of topics for the roundtable. By the way, I created a new tax profile (not a Z) and tested it with old Jerry Thomas and got the same results as with the Z. I also checked that the tax rules were per Merilyn's document.

@BarbaraGoldstein so you were able to process payroll with the Z tax profiles with no issues?

Suggested final question: Who on this panel has the actual authority to do the things you have acknowledged need to be done?

@ErinOldaker , yes I did, in ABC demo company. No errors.

We are splitting this meeting. After review of the questions posted by the members, it was determined that an hour was not sufficient to cover the materials. This first meeting 4/26 will be details on tax calculations, setups, etc., what you need to do and how to do it related to taxes in new PR. The second meeting, May 3, will cover the remaining Payroll questions, that are in development's area of expertise. Note we found, in review, that some questions are enhancement requests and some are support only issues. The development team can't help with support issues unless a reported case to support is not being resolved then they can escalate the case. I'll be posting the invite to the 2nd Roundtable for Sage 100 v 2018 Payroll sometime today. One other note, we are **not recording** either meeting.

Sage sent over the following links to help address some of the questions we've had on PR. The attached pdf is new and is the Payroll User Guide the others are links to the Sage 100 Help system. **Set up Payroll** http://help-sage100.na.sage.com/2018/index.htm#Subsystems/PR/PRSetupProced/Set_Up_Payroll.htm **Set up Tax Profiles** http://help-sage100.na.sage.com/2018/index.htm#Subsystems/PR/PRMainProced/Set_Up_Tax_Profiles.htm **Set up Time Track for Payroll** http://help-sage100.na.sage.com/2018/index.htm#Subsystems/PR/PRTimeProced/Set_Up_Time_Track_PR.htm **Set up Employees** http://help-sage100.na.sage.com/2018/index.htm#Subsystems/PR/PRMainProced/CONFIGURE_EMPLOYEE_MAINT.htm

They told me it had not be published yet, so ""new"" as in ""new"" to us. It will be published on Sage City soon, we are getting the first look.

What they say is the new payroll user guide is the same number of pages and same file size as the one I have from Oct. 2017. I didn't compare table of contents between the two, but if it were really updated, I would expect additions that would make it a longer document. Could they have possibly provided the old version and not the new version by mistake?

New is a relative term, I wouldn't read too much into it. Did you find the other information useful?

Could be a question for them next week.

Add to the agenda: Fringe Benefit - what tax rule allows taxation for state, but not Fed. In California, HSA contributions are taxable for the state, but not Fed. But we can't find a tax rule to match what we want. Also, it looks like all Earnings Codes that are Fringe all use Deduction code FB - I found that using 2017 data in 2018, we got an extra deduction (FB + the original deduction code). Ok, maybe we now don't use the ""old"" deduction codes, but if you have multiple FB Earning codes, does it combine them all into the one FB code? Will you then have to do journal entries to code to multiple GLs? Really?! And if there is only a single Deduction Code but multiple Earnings Codes, how does it affect placement in a box on a W2?

The Sage Dev Team offered - if there are any specific open support cases on PR 2.0 that need to 'nudged' to a higher priority send them to me or to diane.coffman@sage.com or laura.dy@sage.com Please include the case number and a brief description of the issue. Second if you have an example of a State with variable ETT/UI rates that are based on some kind of employer measure/rating please send me examples of the State Issued rate sheet. I'm sending in the one for California and during the meeting Ohio was also mentioned as a state with variable rates.

Very interesting factoid mentioned yesterday regarding the go live adoption rate of this v2018. **About 30**? Did I hear that correctly? I suppose when you eliminate the JC and TC users due to the late release, that would lower the number, but still ONLY 30 pioneers in the entire ecosystem. I wonder how many resellers are in that number.

30 has to be low. We already have 4 or 5.

Weird, because at the meeting of the minds, Sage said there were 100 customers that moved to payroll 2018 only 2% from a total of 6k total customers with payroll
