I am starting to work on Sage 100 Upgrade - 2022 Standard 32 bit to 2025 Premium 64 bit. The 2025 Premium 64 bit will be on a new server VM. What's the best practice for accomplishing this with no user disruption?
What I have done in the past is: 1. Convert the live 2022 Standard 32 bit to 64 bit. 2. Do a test conversion of the live 2022 data to 2025 Premium 64 bit. 3. Install the 2025 Premium client on all of the workstations. 4. Test the printing in the 2022 Standard and 2025 Premium immediately after installing the 2025 Premium workstation client.
What I discovered in a previous upgrade from 2022 to 2025 was that the 64 bit Crystal print driver that gets installed during the 2025 workstation install isn't compatible with version 2022. The 64 bit Crystal driver needs to be deleted and the the version 2022 64 bit driver gets reinstalled from the 2022 wksetup prerequisites.
Am I missing anything or is there something that can be done better?
