  • 1.  SAGE 100 STD v2017 adding "print reminder" to Payroll module.

    I created a custom Crystal Report in SAGE 100 STD v2017. I added this report to the Payroll Custom Reports menu.  I used the SY_MENU_UI hidden utility to try to move the custom report from the Custom Reports menu to the MAIN menu in Payroll. The utility will not allow me to do that. How can I add a "reminder" to print this custom Crystal Report before printing the Payroll Check Register (and updating) to the system?

    @Michael McDonald - I did something similar for someone and the only place I could find to put it was on the Check Printing screen - I have a red text box on there that reminds them to print a 401K report.  Assuming it doesn't matter when they print it as long as the checks are printed, you could put it there - REMINDER PRINT XX REPORT AFTER CHECK PRINTING.​

    Michael - If it's important enough, and you're willing to go there, after making a backup of Sy_Menu.m4t you could potentially DFDM edit/move your Custom Reports menu record to the P/R Main menu. Review in Sy_Menu how the existing tasks are laid out for the Payroll Main menu. You'll see the 3 Parent fields represent the Main submenu, and the Position$ represents the sequence/order. It looks like you have an available Position$ before the Pre-Check Register and the Labor Distribution Report. Or you could increment the Position$ of the Check Register/Update so you could edit your Custom Reports record to go right between Check Printing and Check Register/Update. After you make changes, run Sy_Menu_UI then close it again just to force a menu refresh (you could also change the menu name while there to PLEASE PRINT THIS BEFORE Check Register)

    It's certainly tedious doing it this way (for M/Ds there is a utility for this purpose) and if you choose not to, that is fine. Also, I don't know what happens to your menu record if you reinstall P/R or install the next version of the P/R.

    @Alnoor Cassim and @Beth Bowers  Thank you for your input. Beth's suggestion will work GREAT for now in version 2017. Then after I upgrade to Payroll 2.0.x B4 year end​, i will attempt Alnoor's suggestion. Thanks team 90Minds!!!​
