Sage 100 STD v2014 - Looking for best practice advice for taking physical inventories. Client has inventory split into 8 warehouse codes, three codes are physical locations and the remaining 5 codes are at HQ location. Last year I created Visual Integrator jobs to import the physical counts into SAGE 100 Physical Count Entry from Excel spreadsheets and saved them a ton of data entry. However the procedures prior to importing the physical counts were poor. Has anyone developed a system of exporting Physical counts worksheets into Excel spreadsheets so that they can be loaded onto counters laptops. Developed methods to control the data in the Excel spreadsheets (including adding items ""found"" during the physical but not included in count worksheets) and reconciling procedures on the spreadsheets before they are imported using VI. TIA for any advice.

You could create a new form code with data you wanted to export to excel and have all items including zero on hand listed. Probably put some locked cells in excel so only Qty could be added. You should be able to merge all the excel data when physical count is done to one excel file to use for importing.

@JeffSchwenk has a nice process he uses. I talked to one of his end users who thinks it's the next best thing since sliced bread.
