I had a somewhat similar, though not exact issue. In my case, the customer wanted to delete the CC via the regular AR - Customer Maintenance.
They followed all the steps outlined in the KB, in short:
- You have to be sure the card you are trying to delete from AR - Customer Maintenance - Credit Cards - is NOT the default CC. If it is you first must remove it from default (which I think you do by blanking out the number and saving it on the default field).
- Then you go to the credit cards screen (click the button) and use the arrow button to land on the card. You should see DELETE as an available option.
Note: I do believe as referenced in the OP that this may not delete from the Sage Data Cloud/Sage Exchange. This is not what I'm noting in this update. I do not have anything to add as to how to get it out of SDC/EXCHANGE. Rather I'm adding this comment in case someone searches (like I just did) for ""Delete credit card""
My issue was that a customer called and said ""My customer service person cannot delete a credit card even after following the above steps. The Delete button is grayed out on the CC page"".
After some experimentation I found:
- Customer had their rep assigned 6 different roles which made eyeballing the exact rights difficult
- None of the roles granted permission to AR - Tasks (tab 1) - Maintenance/Data Entry - Customer Maintenance - REMOVE.
Without the remove right the credit card DELETE button never appeared.
Note: It's probable they never saw a delete button for customer maintenance either but they didn't report that since they were only trying to solve for deleting the CC #.
Solution:
Grant one of the 6 roles the rep was assigned the REMOVE right under AR - MAINTENANCE/DATA ENTRY - CUSTOMER MAINTENANCE (ensure ""remove"" right is checked).
