Sage 100

Sage 100 Std 2014 -- Error 88 in program STARTUP.MT at line 0406 Only one user is gettings this and everyone else functions normally. Reinstalled workstation setup, but still getting the same error. Anyone seen this before or have any ideas?

EDIT: the program name is STARTUP.M4T. Not sure why it turned into a hyperlink and lost the '4'.

Have seen this after a Windows update on the workstation. Make sure you run the workstation setup from the 'autorun' and 'as administrator' - most likely it will need one of the prerequisites reinstalled.

Did you try renaming the SY_Console.m4t and SY_Workstation.m4t files on the server?

Where does this Error 88 occur? Is it right when they are starting the system? Are the printing? Are they accessing a certain other area that may trigger it? Also is this an upgrade or have they been successfully using this workstation for a while and suddenly the error came up?

We did rename the SY_Console and SY_Workstation files. The error occurs when launching, before getting to the login box.

The error is the result of an upgrade from 2 weeks ago. I gave them a list of basic troubleshooting items and am just hearing the results now.

Can the user go to another workstation and login with their Sage ID? I'm thinking Diana might be closest on this - possibly some type of config issue due to access rights. Try right clicking Sage 100 icon and run as administrator. Start ruling out anti-virus and or UAC on that machine by turning both off -- especially if the same user can go to another machine and login with their Sage username/pw.

I concur with Wayne and Diana. Likely permissions issue. If running Windows 8 OS the UAC is set to first notch from the bottom, when running Workstation setup again As Administrator. Good luck. Happy New Year's Eve-Day!

Thanks for the suggestions. The workstation is Windows 7. I've forwarded these thoughts to the client's IT and haven't had any feedback yet.
