I want pass package weights from Sage 100 to StarShip.  My plan is to create a "weight"  UDF in SO_PackageTrackingByItem table that gets populated by a script (CI_Item.ShipWeight x  SO_PackageTrackingByItem.Quantity) for each SO_PackageTrackingByItem.PackageNo record.  Has anyone successfully passed package weights from Shipping Data Entry / SO_PackageTrackingByItem to StarShip?  I am reasonably confident I can pass one weight for one line item.  My concern is when there are multiple packages.  How do I pass all of the package numbers and associated weights to StarShip?

Isn't weight by package already part of Sage standard programming?

@Kevin Moyes  and @Kenny Daniel SO_Invoice Tracking gets populated by StarShip after the shipping label is printed.  I probably didn't explain the process change the customer wants:  This company wants to stop using the scale to weigh packages and print the shipping label after they are picked.  It makes sense... If you ship the same product to 50 different customers, why weigh it 50 times... it weighs the same every shipment.  Instead, they want to use the weight assigned to the item, have the front office enter the Shipping Data Entry and then print the packing list and print the StarShip shipping label BEFORE the items are picked.  Warehouse staff will now just physically pick and pack.

@Doug Higgs you might want to look at the batch processing options in Starship. You feed it the info you want on the label and it just prints hundreds on labels at a time. I have a customer that does flash sales, basically selling the same product to hundreds of customers. The only thing that changes is the ship-to. So I import the ship-to address into the batch in Starship and it just spits out labels. Shipping guys just stick the labels on the pre-packed boxes with this one item.

@Doug Higgs all that is part of the Starship Link. If you put weights in the item master and use the package features in shipping data entry, it all gets populated in Starship. If you use the BOI version, all the items and weights populate in Starship and you can create the packaging in directly in Starship.

Thanks @Kenny Daniel  All of my customers have always used a scale and wrote back to Sage 100.  As mentioned in my previous reply, I want to push the data into StarShip.  Good to know this is an option.  I am going to test it next week.

@Kenny Daniel  I did some testing passing weights from Sage 100 to StarShip.  There is no need for user defined fields .  StarShip has some hooks built into it's integration.  However, the passing of package weight is not off-the-shelf StarShip.  The integration needs to be configured using the StarShip Customize Interface.  If using StarShip link it is important to change the interface through Sage 100, Shipping Setup Options, whereas if using the BOI StarShip should be configured in using Setup, Source Interface, Customize Interface.  Map the target (Starship) Shipment, Line Item to the source (Sage 100) Package Weight.
