That Office icon is nice but if you have to send email to every customer then it isn't efficient having to click on that icon for every customer. Maybe I am missing a step or two. It would be great if we could create a letter with merged info for a range of customers or a list of customers then email the letter as an attachment.

Doesn't that Office icon still work? It would just use the email in Customer Maintenance Main tab, but still...

"How about emailing all customers at their paperless email addresses about special offers? For sure, you can do this by exporting emails and importing them to another program. What about letting the customer do this within Sage without a clumsy bolt-on that needs to be maintained?"
Just had a customer ask about this. They are increasing prices and want to send an e,ail to all of their customers. They wanted to know if we could use paperless office to send the price increase email. The answer was no, I can export all of the email addresses to an Excel file for you then you can copy and paste them into Outlook. Yes folks its 2023.

I think Sage should be thinking about five or ten features that EVERY Sage 100 user might benefit from.
This could be things like:
- How about emailing all customers at their paperless email addresses about special offers? For sure, you can do this by exporting emails and importing them to another program. What about letting the customer do this within Sage without a clumsy bolt-on that needs to be maintained?
- Improve the upgrade process so that you don't have to go from workstation to workstation and update clients every time you upgrade. Why can't we flip a switch on the go-live date and have everyone automatically point to the new Sage version?
- Revamp transaction journal entry, so it's more intuitive to enter wire transfers. It's probably just me but I forever forget which account will be debited and which will be credited through these journals.
- Get rid of the requirement to supply a service password for the Sage integration engine during upgrades.
- Some additional tools for moving and perhaps archiving paperless office documents. People tend to like this feature, but 10 years into using paperless, you have folders with tens of thousands of PDF files. And moving them within Sage is slow. We have external tools Sage should build into the paperless menu as utilities.
- With every upgrade, we need to show customers what's new. It's tough to go to a customer and mumble that the upgrade is "all behind the scenes stuff" and have them be interested in paying $$ to upgrade.
- Upgrading ISV solutions should be more straightforward. Some of the integrations are nightmarish to entirely removed from Sage during upgrades.
With each upgrade, the goal should be five general benefits that Sage or the consultant could show the customer. Otherwise, customers are going to stop upgrading until necessary - which is what I see happening more an more.
