I received the email below from a customer today.  Does anyone have a suggestion on how I should reply?

"got our renewal notice from Sage that goes into effect in April. We are going up 10%. I think this is standard, but it seems high, especially since we've always stayed current and moved to the cloud. I know I will get asked specifics from AP. What is Sage's justification for the increase beyond "getting legacy customers inline with new customer pricing"?"

Because they can now that the client is on subscription??????  10% is what Sage has committed holding the line at for folks who moved from Perpetual to Subscription.  Bring to their attention the very nice look of the launcher screen, the fact they can change the look of the screen.  For the older users, being able to supersize their fonts for easy reading is very important.  By staying current with Sage, you are able to deliver award winning support for them that directly impacts (improves) their bottom line.

Sometimes, it is the only way to move beyond the price increases.  We get so focused on justifying Sage from a tech standpoint that you forget to put on your Sale hat to get you through.  Yes, it is a lot, but subscription is the way of the world.  You can't control that aspect but you can control how the client values your services.  If they go else where, they lose you.  Don't let them forget that!!!

I've long suggested that Sage needs one or two "everyone can benefit" features for each release.

BTW, here's my condensed version of what's been added level by level. I find that customers are more apt to read bullet points than the lengthy upgrade guides that Sage publishes.

I also added the latest perpetual vs subscription which Sage recently published and which outlines the features only available to subscription licenses. There's a link to the full document as well as relevant screen captures on the last few pages of the above document.

Sage is going to eliminate the Sage 100 Cloud branding ( likely it will be unannounced ) so in the future, it seems we will distinguish between perpetual and subscription ( which also includes Sage Partner Cloud ) in terms of feature sets.

I have a document I use for what's new that highlights features only available with subscription.  @Wayne Schulz you did a nice job on your simplified document.

It gets even more fun when you start to include features added through product updates...

This is a story about a goose and an egg. A golden one. In the end the greedy owner kills the goose thereby putting an end to the bounty of golden eggs. Stop me if you’ve heard this one before.
