Sage 100 Premium. Version 5.00.3.0. Server 2008 Service Pack 2. 32 bit. SQL Server 2008 10.0.1600.2 Modifying a Crystal Report and want to have three new UDF's added AR_Customer show up for inclusion in the report. When I run Verify database, I get prompted to provide credentials for the MAS_Reports user. After providing the credentials and hitting finish I get a ""logon failed"" error. (screen shots attached) I made sure I had the right credentials by changing the user password in both SQL and in Sage ERP Setting Utility. Anybody run into this before?

This is similar to the non-premium issue. Don't enter anything on this page then hit the Back button to get the normal login choices.

OK, I guess I'm a dummy. I hit back and it gives me a list of providers. Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server fails. SQL Server Native Client 10.0 fails as well. What is the 'normal login choice'?

You don't have the normal ODBC options? How do you normally log in for Premium?

I have been trying to find a solution to the EXACT same issue. Except Windows Server 2012; Sage 100 Premium V 5.00.3 I contacted Sage and they said I was missing the OLE DB on the server and to contact Windows... Did not help. I can run reports just fine on the server, but when I try to ""Verify Database"" when in Crystal reports I get the same prompt. Or when I go into Set Datasource Location I cant find the SQL location. See attachments.

BUT other users can ""Verify Database"", just not on the server....

Erin, that helps. I was concerned that this may be a server specific issue. I will try running the verification process on a workstation and move forward.

Therese, you don't usually get a logon challenge. Your SQL credentials take care of that for you. If you are updating a Crystal Report from within the application, you should be connecting using the MAS_Reports users created automatically during the installation of Sage 100. Nothing more should be required.

You can use either OLEDB or ODBC. You may try logging in as sa to verify the database. Below is using OLE. On the first screen after selecting the provider click next. On the second screen after entering the server, logion credentials and database click finish.

@DougHiggs tried to login as sa and doesn't work.... and on the server it doesn't show an ODBC or OLE DB exists

Are you opening the Crystal report from within MAS or from a folder? Is the MAS client installed on the server?

Tried opening from within MAS and from a folder. MAS client is installed on server.

When you open Crystal and click Database, then Log on or Off Server, then Create New Connection, do you see a list of data sources? If you scroll down do you see ODBC or OLE DB?

@DougHiggs I do not see any of those on my version on the server. Screen shot attached. I have un-installed and re-installed Crystal Reports many times and this still not populate those connections.

What do you see when you click the plus sign to the left of ""More Data Sources""?

    @DougHiggs .....no data found

Time to check with the IT department and find out why there are no data sources. You should also look in ODBC Data Source Administrator to see if the data sources are present.

@DougHiggs I opened the report from within Sage. I tried logging in as sa and that did not work either. I notice that when I provide the name of the server, no databases are listed. Therefore I think there is a connection issue. I am going to try connecting via a workstation today.

@DougHiggs The IT department was no help..... The data sources exist in the ODBC administrator (attached); I am able to run a crystal report from MAS, but when I try to make edits in Crystal the databases dont exist.... Any other suggestions?

@ErinOldaker The screen shot you sent yesterday at 9:17pm central time shows SPINSQL_1, SPINSQL_2, etc. Have you tried connecting using any of these? I noticed your ODBC user DSN is SPINSQL. You may try asking your IT dept if any of the SPINSQL_x are data sources for Sage 100.

@DougHiggs They are not Data sources for Sage 100. But they populate a new one, each time I try to open the data-source from the server in crystal. They do not work if I try to open them. It is so weird....
