  • 1.  Sage 100 Premium - SQL as a Server on Azure

    I have customer running Sage 100 Premium asking if it's supported using SQL as a Service in Azure. There's nothing written up on this and my inclination is 'no,' but I thought I'd ask the hive, just in case. Anyone know one way or the other? Thanks.

    I thought there might have been discussion here before and my memory is no.

    I have a customer on premium using Azure and although they complain about the cost I think it has worked well. So far as I’m aware they setup a regular SQL server on Azure.

    Bill, the answer is no I don't think it works.  I tried setting up DSD SQL Mirroring as well with the SQL as a Service and that didn't work.  I tried setting up Sage 100 Premium in AWS using their SQL service and that didn't work.  Each time we had to install full SQL.  It appears the issue is with these versions of sql you can't do specific cross database queries by using the full qualified name of the database like you can with on-prem sql when in another database.  So I can't say select * from mas_abc.dbo.AR_Customer when i'm in mas_system, it doesn't seem to understand the mas_abc.dbo portion.
