Sage 100 Platform changes

    In the latest Sage Partner Hub News:  Sage 100 Platform changes.  As of 1/1/2022, if a customer changes platform (Advanced to Premium, etc.) all discounts including any grandfathering goes away and renewal is reset to that date at current list price.  So if you have anyone sitting in the fence about moving to SQL, that fence is about to become splinters and rusty nails...

    When I first saw this I thought "uh-oh" Sage is about to charge for migration to Premium. Luckily they didn't but I'm still wondering how long before a memo comes around with any number of explanations and a price increase for those who are using SQL.

    Keep in mind that when Sage says they want to "make it easier to do business with them" they mean easier FOR THEM.

    We checked a couple of advanced clients with 20 users who were thinking about SQL and the cost increase was 15-20% depending on their migration discount and the price difference between 100c and 100cloud.  It would be nice to have until March 31 of 2022 so we had more time to get the migrations done.  Maybe some 90 Minds pushback could buy us more time?

    If a client with an annual subscription wants to migrate from Std or Adv to Premium WILL it involve a price increase or MAY it involve a price increase?  How does one determine if it will or will not be switched at their same subscription price?

    This seems to only apply to monthly billing.
    I'm not sure why.

    Please note that Microsoft recently announced a somewhat similar move away from monthly billing.

    I have asked our Sage rep for confirmation on this one.  that it only impacts monthly, not annual subscriptions.
