We have a few scenarios on local taxes (since we're in PA):

    1) Is there a way to find the tax rate that is applied to a tax profile?  In Legacy, the user set up the Local codes and specified the withholding rate for each local. In 2.0, the user specifies the residence location and the work location for each employee, but they have no way of knowing what tax rate will be applied.

    2)  We're experiencing a problem with the Employers Expense Summary Report in Payroll 2.20 where Local Taxes are being combined for two locals instead of being listed separately. Our situation is this: Employees' work location is inside a city's limits and the Local Services Tax (LST) needs to be withheld for any employee who works in this location. The employee is also required to pay a .3% "commuter tax" if they reside outside of the city, but work in the city location. They are also required to pay a Local Tax to the municipality in which they reside. In Legacy Payroll, withholding for the residence Local Tax and the Work Local Tax ("commuter tax") withholding amounts were listed separately on the Employers Expense Summary Report (EESR). Local Services Tax, in Legacy Payroll, was handled as a deduction and was shown separately. In Payroll 2.0, Local Services Tax is withheld as a tax and IS SHOWN separately on the report. However, in Payroll 2.0, both the residence and work Local Taxes are combined and shown as one amount on the EESR under the work tax group. It seems that the taxes are combined during Payroll Tax Calculation and, therefore, we have no chance of separating them by modifying the EESR. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue and/or have a solution or workaround?

    1.   Are there any work arounds for running payroll (even manual procedures) when an internet connection isn't available?

    2.  Can you split a direct deposit to multiple employee deposit accounts and if so, can this be done on a percentage basis or is it only fixed amounts?

Questions are all related to future functionality:
    1. When are reports going to portrait?
    2. Reporting- earning and deduction reports need to be run by date not just quarter.
    3. Labor codes need rates to go back to the labor code and not driven by cost code (some clients use labor codes but not Job Cost).
    4. Additional ability you to add a burden GL code to Labor Maintenance.

Anyone using the Sage HRMS PR Link??
    How about extensive UDF's?
Setting up codes in PR data entry and flowing them to history, perhaps to job cost and or the GL?
Has anyone beside @Dan Burleson developed a workaround for the PII encrypted data?

Check entry with only negative pre-tax deduction does not calculate tax in Payroll 2.0

When running a payroll check entry in Sage 100 2017 or earlier, and with only negative pre-tax deduction amounts, the entry triggers a tax calculation and positive (refund) of appropriate tax amounts. Running a similar entry in Sage 100 2018 or newer does not calculate any tax amounts.

Currently under review by engineering since 5-13-2020

No workaround except do negative manual taxes, which does not calculate the employer taxes correctly so GL JE would need to be done to populate those after manual calculation.  Definitely not ideal.

Can we get a status update on this?  Is it dead in Engineering?

Can someone get an official response/position statement regarding

Is Sage doing anything for the payroll tax deferral for employees that is supposed to happen after Sept 1?

    Asking for a friend (client).

Thanks @Kevin Moyes - One would think that something of this magnitude might rate an email directly to the reseller community and not just a post to Sage City.........

Everyone should be subscribed to the "Sage 100 Announcements, News, and Alerts" section of Sage City... that is where Sage has been posting important things (like this, product updates, Hot-Fixes...).

    Really enjoyed the webinar, all!

@Michele Herzog, will you please expand on  the ramifications of having the Earnings Codes for COVID set up as Regular rather than Miscellaneous?  I have two clients that just upgraded from legacy PR to 2.20.2.  Although I strongly recommended they start out live in "new PR" with new earnings codes, they have not (yet).  Please advise so I can counsel them what it means to them for either taxation or reporting purposes if they don't use new earnings codes that have been properly set up.

Sage created the programming to report in the Miscellaneous earnings and deduction section of reporting.  I do believe this was done to create a divider between regular earnings and the 3 FFA earnings allowed.  The divider is important for any employer who received a PPP loan and even if they did not receive a PPP loan it is important for the 941 report.   I set up all of my clients and they have had very few issues in regards to taxes and reporting.  I have 1 client in which I am not their ROR, however I have a relationship with their CPA firm for help as the CPA firm does not actually support Sage 100.  I sent them all of the setup information and they missed the part of choosing Miscellaneous earnings and chose Regular earnings.  The result of this was incorrect tax calculations and not being able to reconcile properly.
