SAGE 100 Payroll Question. Multi-Rate State Unemployment tax. It looks like Michigan passed a law that allows for a lower unemployment rate for Foreign Nationals working in Michigan. The rate for all other employees is based on an assigned company rate taxed on the first $9,500 in employee earnings. Do other states have multi-rate unemployment calculations? How is this accomplished in SAGE 100 ERP Payroll?

Couldn't you create a separate SUI state code and assign it in the employee master to those employees who qualify? The SUI code could then have it's own rate separate from Michigan.

@WayneSchulz I'll give that a try. I'll have to contact Aatrix to see if they can combine the two SUI codes onto the same Quarterly Michigan Unemployment Reporting form (Form MI-1028).
