Sage 100

Sage 100 Paperless Faxing Customer is using Sage 100 v4.05 - moving to v2015. The question they have asked is with LM-1019 on v4.05 when they try to fax they claim the system is sticking a +1 in the front of the phone number which is causing dialing problems. I can count of half of one finger the number of people I've had using the fax capabilities. However the ones I've had tend to be fiercely passionate about the capabilities of faxing and adamant that they need it (versus going paperless email). I know one workaround is to stick the eFax specific email into paperless. Anyone recall if there was an issue with faxing automatically adding the +1 to the phone number?

That should be a setting (by area code) on the machine they are faxing from (the one with the modem) in the windows phone and modem control panel

If someone needs fax capabilities I set up the Microsoft Fax Server (free) on the sever and attach a modem to the server. Then install the MS fax Client on each workstation. All Sage 100 documents can then be faxed. Free and easy to set up.

Their complaint is that Sage is sticking the +1 in front of the number. I'm not so sure that's the case and that it's not their faxing solution but that is their story for now. Looking to see if Sage controls that +1 in the phone number.

Like @PhilMcIntosh said, the configuration of the fax device on the system that is the fax server is likely set up with '+1'. It has been a default setting for a very long time. Probably the IT tech for the customer is still scratching their head figuring out what a fax is let alone how to set it up.

Edit the dialing rules in the phone and modem options in the control panel to remove the +1.
