Mobile devices for Technician Dashboard: Technician Dashboard operates on a variety of today's mobile devices as well as laptops. My preference is to have some type of tablet and a wi-fi device, so you have enough real estate on the screen to work efficiently. It doesn't have to be 10"", the smaller ones work well. iPhone and Android phones are OK for messages and calls, but not for looking up parts and entering the data.
Consider Field Service & Dispatch to be a fully integrated, structured and controlled system. When you are dealing with techs in the field you really want to make sure they only do what they are allowed to, and this facilitates that.
I consider the Sage Mobile Service to be closer to the ""Honda Civic"" or more appropriately a Fiat 500. There's not much there. Sage came out with these mobile apps to say they have that in order to compete. Functionally they are extremely basic.
