Sage 100 ERP 2014 PU 4 - IRD 2014: First run of payroll with paperless office and forms delivery fails with: Logon Denied: Check username, password and domain NTLM Authentication Failed Naturally worked fine in the v4.3 they upgraded from Somewhere I remember that someone said this might be related to a server timeout issue? If so (or if a different resolution) -- any ideas on fix ?

One possible Logon Denied when sending email using Paperless on Sage 100 ERP version 2013. Other errors may include: Unable to login to SMTP connection Failed to login using LOGIN method Failed to login using NTLM method Resolution Open Exchange Management Console, Server Configuration, Hub Transport Right-Click SMTP Receive Connector and select Properties Select the Authentication Tab Select Basic Authentication check box

I was able to send a test email through company maintenance but the paperless DD Stubs provided an error.

My first guess was that the new server is not set to relay in Exchange (usually set by IP) but I would have expected the Company Maint test to fail. Is the Paperless folder store still on the 4.3 server?

No I moved the paperless folder. I could swear someone ran into an issue where they had to change a timeout figure on Exchange.

Another 4.4 to 2014 using paperless for Payroll DD stubs has the same error message. @WayneSchulz did you ever get past this? I have a client that's having the exact same error (4.4 to 2014 upgrade)...

Yes but it mostly appeared to be an IT/Exchange issue. One where IT isn't cooperative and sits and make a half dozen changes while you are standing there but doesn't give info on what changed. The only thing that I changed on the Sage end was in Company Maintenance - Tab #4 - Email - Flipped SMTP Encryption from NONE to TLS/STARTTTLS.

With one of our clients, we assigned port 443 when turning on TLS/STARTTLS (587 would work, also, per Sage help files)

Thanks @WayneSchulz and @BarbaraGoldstein! Now the truth comes out...IT moved Exchange servers this past week, but didn't think anyone needed to know....

Same issue as @WayneSchulz: tests fine via Comp Maint but get NTLM error via PO Printing. So similar to Wayne I changed the SMTP Encryption from 'NONE' to ""TLS/STARTTLS"" and that resolved it. Also, the client had mentioned that when the error was occurring for a group of PO's, some PO's e-mailed successfully but some didn't, of which I said that seems a little strange because typically with a Paperless error like this, all will fail. ?

Is the PO in Paperless being emailed as someone other than the user? I have seen issues in the past where users have to be set up in Exchange to allow ""impersonation"" of another user.

I don't think that's the case here.
