I have two big concerns about Sage 100 downloads and this "new" KB.
UPDATE 7/18/2023: I spoke to Sage on this and the reason that I couldn't see downloads is that I wasn't logged into the Downloads KB. Once I logged in then I was able to see results for the downloads. They also indicated that they are going to have the download and KB running separately for a period of time though their ultimate goal/hope is that they would only have one KB. I still feel it is wise for us to continue to maintain a separate storage of file downloads - especially needed to take a customer from v3.x to current.
- The Sage 100 Product Updates are now showing that product updates are only going to be released for 2023 and 2022. What happened to 2021 which is still supported until the release of 2024?
- My recent attempt with what's now referred to affectionately as Sage 100 Download Center, it seems as if most, if not all, of the searchable links for version downloads have been removed. For example, i could not find the Sage 100 2021 download page in the Download Center by searching "sage 100 2021 download" ( with quotes. ( I do understand that Sage has recently changed their KB and that there are now effectively two KB - one for downloads ( but still has outdated/not being updated KB articles ) and one for KB.

Admittedly, Sage seems to have consolidated much of the full version download into a one page "Sage 100 Download Portal" which in turn links to prior versions of Sage 100. And that's fine when you only need the current or two more recent versions (and know to look in the Sage Knowledgebase and not the Sage Download Center)
The issue is that the page only links to currently supported versions (2022, 2021). It appears difficult, if not impossible, to get to older versions of Sage 100 except through this download page.
I have two theories:
- Hanlon's razor
- A conscious push by Sage to keep customers current and disallow those who may have perpetual licenses from downloading old versions
I think we have a pretty good storage of old Sage 100 files. Seeing what's happening to the Sage KB leads me to suggest a doubling down of storing as many older files as we can find before they start to disappear from Sage sites.
It won't be long before we see more people retiring from the Sage 100 side of Sage and this type of knowledge is going to become very difficult to obtain from the general Sage support lines.
