Sage 100 Bill of Lading Crystal Reports - We just created and delivered a BOL report for a client on v2014. In developing the specifications for it, we decided to make a packing list form and create it during shipping data entry. We print the packing list, then print the BOL form immediately after. During the testing phase, I became frustrated because after printing either form, the program flow took me back to a blank screen where I had to reenter the SO number. I thought well, I will just activate the quick printing option to return to the order being processed. Upon investigation, there is no such option. I sent a note to Diane Coffman who verified the now obvious. She also said this was the first she had ever heard of a need for a quick printing button in shipping data entry. How odd, but somewhat typical of Sage. So the big question is - For those of you who have created BOL Crystal reports, how do you set this up to run - from shipping data entry, from invoice data entry, from a custom report menu (if so, what table are you pulling form) or some other spot? Thanks in advance.

You could have it print both a packing slip AND an invoice form that is either the BOL or a packing list? They would both pop up, first the packing slip, then the invoice.

The option to auto print both is in Shipping Setup Options.

While you're pushing for this, Jeff, you might mention they could be consistent and also include the Packing List and Picking Sheet in Paperless options for emailing.

Whole range - SO Entry (for folks who need them in advance - have added a BOL qty to the screen), Invoice Entry, and Shipping Entry. And Custom Reports. If there is anywhere else to put it, I've probably put it there, too.

Hmmmm. Interesting print the packing slip and the pseudo invoice as a bill of lading. Wish I would have thought of that before we picked the packing list work file......

Depending on how many ""special"" fields the BO needs, I have created a custom tab in CI_Item with UDFs. Insert the UDFs on the SO Entry form. The same format can be used to re-print BOL from SO History.

I have used the additional packing lists to print such forms. It can be set to prompt or automatically print I think.

I do it this way. I leave the Packing List form as the Packing List Form. Then I establish the BOL as the ""Addt'l packing list"". As long as the user prints (or previews) the Packing List Form, the work table data is available for printing the Addt'l Packing List. I have it set to automatically print (it prompts them to say they want the BOL form). This seems to work for many clients. The Packing List is almost always needed, if not, just preview the form to load the data; then go to the BOL (Addt'l Packing List). [assuming I correctly understood your question]. And my clients do have a Quick Print in Shipping Data Entry for the Packing List (which then prompts them for the Addt'l Pack List.)

Thanks everyone. Looks like the addt'l packing list is the way to go. @MadelineStefanou - I misspoke. Shipping data entry printing is quick printing even though it is not called that. The functionality missing is ""Redisplay Source Document After Quick Printing"" option on tab 6 of SO options. After printing, the source information is cleared and you have to reenter the SO number to get back.
