Sage 100 and the Competition The reality is starting to be very clear all of a sudden. I rarely have lost sales to SAP or Dynamics NAV when given the same chances. We are now getting comments about the UI of Sage 100 not being as good as the other two. I don't totally agree, but I have no real comeback if that's what the perception is. I imagine the competition is feeding them this. The other bigger reality is the cloud competition. There is no way that Sage 100 can compete, even when hosted, if the prospect is set on a cloud app. I'm glad we took on Acumatica a month ago.

When you see the Acumatica people borrow a laptop from the audience and setup a live PowerBI integration in under 2 minutes - you know it's going to be dark(er) days for Sage. Granted, perhaps the PowerBI shown is fluff and maybe there are other issues with large data sets (speed?) --- but I dare anyone to show Sage 100 with integration to SI using an on-the-fly setup. Sage UK says that NA new license sales are flat and they don't expect that to materially change.

I guess ten years of neglect starts to have an impact. Who knew?

Here's the reality when you first talk to a prospect and they announce they are already talking to NetSuite and want a cloud solution. With Sage 100 they politely (or not) say ""no thank you"". When you say ""That's great, so you'll be interested in seeing Acumatica, which offers the same cloud deployment with a lower investment."" They immediately are interested, and can't wait to set up an appointment.
