Sage 100 Advanced version 4.3 PU 18 - Visual Integrator issue. We have a UPC code item maintenance UDF. The VI job is an import to Sales Order entry. The source file does not contain an item number, but has the UPC code. Is there a way to import the sales order line items by using the UPC code to find the line item?

Not sure, but I always recommend that the general alias be used for the UPC code. You may have to create an Access DB to assign the item number as a pre import step.... Am very interested if someone has a direct method...

The business logic that VI uses for Sales Order in version 4.3 will act the same as it does when someone types an alias number in sales order. So if you have the UPC Codes defined as a general alias item number in item maintenance the VI logic should translate that to the correct item number for you.

Definitely the way to go - had a video distributor who cataloged their myriad of DVD's this way and it was far easier.

Sorry but I had to add a comment to see this conversation. Socialcast searching continues to throw errors.
