Sage 100 Advanced Upgrade from 4.30 to 4.50 Issue

Sage 100 Advanced Upgrade from 4.30 to 4.50 Issue Test upgrade on client system went fine. They tested and we prepared for go live. Live conversion results in the following error: WO_LevelConversion.pvc Converting from 4.3 to 4.4 Error trying to create TEMP01 file. (error 12) We cannot get by this - tried conversions on their system, locally, with and without modifications and even have had a programmer look at the code. Anyone experienced this or have suggestions to try to get around it?

How are you doing the live conversion? Using the migration wizard? Are there any changes to system files, VI's or Crystals that would necessitate this? If not try renaming the MAS_XXX data folder in v4.5, then copy the same folder from the v4.3 folder. Be sure to delete any temp files, *.old, etc. Just some out loud thoughts.

Are they using ACS Multi-bin? There is a KB article on this.

We had a similar issue with multi-currency installed (AR instead of WO). We had to rename the links folder, run the conversion and then restore the links folder. Might we worth trying?

What is puzzling is why the test migration went without a hitch. I think Kate may be on to something.

Thank you all. We are going to try those suggestions and let you know how it goes. And yes Jeff - it is very puzzling why test went off without a hitch - we have another upgrade in a similar situation - test ok - can't get live to convert.

And Doug - yes they were using ACS Multi-bin and we have uninstalled it. We did see that KB and our programmer has gone down to code level (which ACS suggested) but doesn't think it has anything to do with them.

Did you try removing the Multi-Bin WO files (wo_a4xxx.soa, wo_aUxxx.soa, wo_L1xxx.soa ) from the WO_xxx data folder and then converting the data? Replace the files after conversion has completed. This is per the KB. Uninstalling it may not remove the data files from the WOXXX folder.

Unfortunately none of the above suggestions worked (though thank you - we had momentary hope). Ee just don't know where to go next and any other thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

WAG - login as Admin on the network? Could that have changed since your testing? Maybe you were admin then and now you are using a local users acct?

We have taken the data down to our local machines and still gotten the same error, but let me check on that. I am sure the answer will be something simple - it's just getting to it. Thanks!

Since it appears to be related to WO, remove the WO data files and try the conversion. If that works then you could restore 1/2 of the work order data files and try again. If it doesn't work remove half of the half and try again. Try and narrow it down to what WO data files (if any) are creating the error. Have you removed the ACS and rebuilt the data files? It could be that one or more of the data files were expanded or otherwise modified. Do you get the same error if you try and convert from 4.3 to 4.4 first?

We have removed ACS because we are moving to our MB solution. Not sure when the files were rebuilt, but I will ask about that. And yes we get the same error moving to 4.40 first. We will try your thoughts though on removing WO - thanks!
