  • 1.  Sage 100 ADV PU2 Installing Client to NEW WIN 10 Workstation

    Sage 100 Workstation Failed for NEW Win 10 laptop.  See attached.

    Installed as Admin, AV disabled, no UAC.  .Net 3.5 and 4.8 are installed.  Have done this numerous time to no avail.  Sage runs in MAS90 mode without issue.  Client has been running v2021 since may without issue.  Other workstations work well.

    Thoughts?

    It looks like you are running the Standard WS setup for an Advanced system.

    Bad example.  I install from the wksetup under the v2021 ADV folder getting prompts for server name and port.

    Uninstall previous versions of Sage 100 workstation, UAC off (registry hack), reboot, log in with local admin account, run AutoRun.exe "As Admin"...

    Installed using Administrator login, UAC was off (no registry hack), AV was off.  Not other clients were installed when error received.

    The control panel applet doesn't actually disable UAC... just the warnings.  To do it properly, set EnableLUA to 0 (zero).

    The .msi program in wksetup is "Standard" in your screen shot.  Below is a 2019 Advanced wksetup folder I have.Note the name of the Sage 100 2019 Workstation.msi

    From the old school dos prompt, can you ping the server?  Does the name (FQDN) to the server resolve properly?  If not, can you ping the server using the IP address?

    There is a log file that will tell you what is failing - I think it will be in the c:\Sage\Sage 100 Workstation\ folder somewhere. If it is failing during the pre-reqs phase, might go to the prerequisites folder and try installing each item separately. Sometimes I've had issues with Microsoft Visual C++ redistributables having newer version on the workstation than Sage recognizes - if that's the case then I will just run the setup.exe rather than autorun to bypass pre-reqs.

    Epilogue - I was able to install on Saturday.  Didn't do anything different (I think).  Thanks to all who posted a suggestion.
